Updates and nuptual information

So, I’ve been getting a lot of messages wanting to know about wedding details…  Here’s what we’ve got so far:

-The ceremony and [proper] reception will be in Michigan since both of our families are out there.
-We’re trying for September 21st, 2008.  We’ll see if that happens.
-We’re also trying to keep the budget mega-low.  Therefore, it’ll be a smallish wedding for family and close friends – Don’t be offended if you don’t get a proper invite…  It’s simply a matter of practicality and resources.  We still love you.
-We’re looking to hold a Los Angeles reception after we get back from Michigan.  We’d like to celebrate with our west coast friends but don’t want anyone to drag themselves to Michigan with airfare running $200-$300, hotels and the like  …plus, it’s Michigan.
-I will be shaving for the ceremony.

In JOT happenings, Stephen (front-and-center in the picture below) gets back from wherever he was for November and December next week.  We’re working on eight (!) new songs (with a handful of germs of ideas for other songs here and there) and they’re all leaning towards a more ‘rockin” sound – I think we all have some aggression to get out…  Also, we’re looking into booking new gigs all over the place (within reason), conducting interviews (one for ClearChannel Magazine will appear in the next month or two) and talking about shooting a concert video…

Hope everyone’s happy and healthy – I think I am.

Don’t be offended if you don’t get a proper invite…

I found out from my mom that some of her siblings (of which there are 8!) were or are still annoyed that we didn’t invite them to our wedding…
…at the 41B District Court on Rochester Rd just north of Auburn.

Yeah, that place where you pay your traffic fines.

Truth is, we had to restrict the invite list to those who were siblings, parents, or grandparents because the family vastly outweighed the friends and work people we would have been pleased to share the day with.

    Bride (sobbing):

    But it’s my day!

    Bride’s mom (gritting):

    Don’t kid yourself, hon.

    Bridesmaids (squealing):

Do it — whatever it is — for THE BRIDE!

Dudes of all kinds (eyes rolling):

Uh, is it cool if I take this tie off yet?

I refuse to end this comment with some sappy advice about how to plan your wedding or more specifically manage those out-of-town guests who weren’t invited but insist on attending.

(Well, let’s see what airfare looks like in September, first…)
